Meryl Streep set to
appear alongside Nicole Kidman in Big Little Lies
MERYL Streep is joining the cast of Big Little Lies.
The Hollywood megastar will star alongside Nicole Kidman and
Reese Witherspoon as the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character in season
two of the hit HBO drama, it has been confirmed.
The casting of Streep is a big deal as the three-time Oscar
winner rarely appears on the small screen. The 68-year-old was last seen in political
thriller The Post and will feature in
the Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia! sequels due for release later
this year.
Big Little Lies
has been a huge success, with both the show and its cast winning a string of
awards and nominations at the SAG Awards, Emmys, Golden Globes and Critic’s
Choice Awards.
The show was renewed for a second season late last year.
Season 2 of Big Little
Lies is expected to air on HBO in 2019.
